The sculpture in Kiellandsmyra has a somewhat motley past. In the first years, the sculpture stood on a soft grassy hill by an old football field, where it spent many nice summer days with the district's young football enthusiasts.
In the period from 2014 to 2020, the sculpture stood for almost 6 years on a fenced construction area, while the construction of the Hundvåg tunnel (Ryfast) and the Eiganes tunnel was ongoing. Hidden from the public behind a mound near the intersection of Madlaveien and E18, the sculpture was exposed to a large amount of tagging and vandalism.
In 2020, the tagging was tried to be removed, but the sculpture still has visible "scars" from the recent past. In 2021, the work was finally completed and the area available to the public again. Sculpture number 18 can once again enjoy the view of people playing football and having fun. Admittedly at a distance, from the outside of the new ball pond.

Skulpturen i Kiellandsmyra har en noe brokete fortid. De første årene sto skulpturen på en myk gressbakke ved en gammel fotballøkke, hvor den tilbrakte mange fine sommerdager med bydelens unge fotballinteresserte.
I perioden fra 2014 til 2020 sto skulpturen i nærmere 6 år på et inngjerdet anleggsområde, mens byggingen av Hundvågtunnelen (Ryfast) og Eiganestunnelen pågikk. Skjult for allmennheten bak en vollhaug like ved krysset Madlaveien og E18, ble skulpturen utsatt for en del tagging og annen hærverk.
I 2020 ble taggingen forsøkt fjernet, men skulpturen har fremdeles synlige «arr» fra den nære fortiden. I 2021 ble arbeidet endelig ferdigstilt og området tilgjengelig for allmennheten igjen. Skulptur nummer 18 kan atter igjen nyte synet av folk som spiller fotball og morer seg. Riktignok på litt avstand, fra utsiden av ballbingen.
